Auckland, last thoughts from New Zealand

time for another quick update of what we've been up to these last days :

18/5 on our way to the Glaciars in the South Island.

19/5 climbed a bit of the Franz Josef Glaciar !! It was fantastic, the highlight of the trip I reckon !! Phenomenal views. Some good things: the ice looks blue because of the scattering of light through the small bubbles in the ice and other small things. It affects more to light with small wavelenght, so that is blue light !! and that's why we see them blue-ish. Anyway, the Franz Josef is a warm glaciar, sitting on a river and advancing around 40cm/day !! awesome !!

20/5 Wanaka. Beautiful small city by an amazing lake. Must be a top destination for winter sports. We went hiking and at night we went out and got superpissed dancing in a surfer bar !!

21/5 on our way back to Christchurch. Got too late and we almost cannot make it to the campervan !!

22/5 Christchurch. Walk around the city. Saw the contemporary art museum with some pretty interesting stuff inside.

23/5. Auckland. Said goodbye to Leena at lunchtime. Now I am stuck here in a crappy motel by the airport coz tomorrow flying at 6am to Samoa !!

more from sunny Samoa !! All good, very intense, lots of emotiona. As always, when you leave a friend one has a sad feeling, especially having been 24x7 with the same person, but all this feelings are filling me up and makin me enjoy life and this trip very much.

hola, unos updates rapidines de lo que hemos estado haciendo estos ultimos dias:

18/5 de camino hacia los glaciares de la South Island.

19/5 subimos un poco del Glaciar Franz Josef !! Fue sencillamente fantastico, creo que uno de los momentos mas bonitos de mi viaje !! Unas vistas fenomenales. Algunos datos de interes: el hielo parece azul pq la luz dispersada por las burbujillas y otras particulas dentro del hielo afecta mas a la luz de longitud de onda corta (la azul)!! Bueno, el Franz Josef es un glaciar 'caliente' pq esta encima de un rio, y avanza unos 40cm/dia !! esto si que es unico en el mundo !!

20/5 Wanaka. Preciosa ciudad al lado de un lago. Es una ciudad perfecta en hinvierno para la gente que le gusta esquiar !! Hicimos un poco de trekking por las montanyas y nos agarramos un pedal bailando en un bar de surfetas !! Vaya tela !!

21/5 de camino a Christchurch. Llegamos mogollon de tarde y casi nos perdemos !!

22/5 Christchurch. Paseo por la ciudad. Vimos el museo de arte contemporaneo donde habian exposiciones muy interesantes.

23/5. Auckland. Acabo de despedirme de Leena este mediodia. Ahora estoy en un supechamizo al lado del aeropuerto, pero con cama y habitacion para mi solo. Manyana vuelo a las 6 de la manyana hacia Samoa !! vuelo manyana pero llegare hoy por lo de la linia del tiempo que cruzaremos !!

mas desde Samoa, con sandalias espero. Todo muy bien y bonito. Muchas emociones pq han sido dos semanas muy intensas, como unas vacaciones. Ahora que vuelvo a estar solo es dificil otra vez, y cada vez que se deja de ir con alguien se siente un vacio que me llena. Esto me hace sentir muchas emociones que hacen la pena seguir de viaje !! Sempre endavant.
