Navimag, Pto Montt - Pto Natales, Chile

we embarked on the boat Magallanes, www.navimag.com, sailing placidly through the through the Chilean Patagonia. We were sharing a cabin with Judy, born in the Uk but now living in Melbourne, Oz, a really cool lady. The boat has plenty of activities to keep one busy, but most people spend their time walking around the deck or simply chilling out reading a book. It got a bit choppy when we entered open sea, so we took some seasick tablets and all went hunky doree !! In the boat I rediscovered another forgotten pleasure: chill out doing nothing, just looking at the beautiful scenery and the sea. We stopped one morning in Puerto Eden, the place on Earth that it rains most !! last year it rained 320 days !! it's very remote, only 300 people live there, amongst them the last 10 people from a tribe that has been living there for thousands of years !! and I got in love with the savage beauty of nature. Windy, rainy and cold, but amazingly beautiful. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip !! Saw some icebergs and a stunny gorgeous glaciar, the Pio XI !!

nos embarcamos en el buque Magallanes, www.navimag.com, donde navegamos placidamente a traves de la maravillosa Patagonia Chilena. Compartimos una cabina con Judy, nacida en Inglaterra pero que vive ahora en Melbourne, Australia, una señora deliciosamente simpatica. El bote tiene mogollon de actividades donde uno puede participar, pero la mayoria de la gente se la pasa simplemente paseando por la cubierta y relajandose en un sofa. Como cuando entramos a mar abierto se puso un poco movida la cosa, o sea que nos tomamos un par de pastis para el mareo y todo como la seda !! Durante este viaje en barco redescubri unos de los placeres olvidados: relajarme y no hacer nada, simplemente mirar al mar y el paisaje maravillosamente salvaje. Un dia atracamos en Puerto Eden, el sitio de la Tierra donde llueve mas !! El año pasado llovio 320 dias !! es un lugar superremoto, donde solo 300 personas viven alli en condiciones muy duras, entre ellas los ultimos 10 indigenas de una tribu que ha vivido en esas tierras durante milenios !! La verdas es que entiendo pq viven alli, cuando uno ve la belleza salvaje de esas tierras se queda sin palabras. Hace viento, es lluvioso y frio, pero extraordinariamente bonito. Es clarisimamente otro de los momentos inolvidables de mi viaje !! Vimos tambien algunos icebergs y un glaciar fenomenal, el Pio XI !!
